The whys and wherefores of silent subterfuge in the Department of Homeland Security, our Congress and the media as relates to the SADM
Is the Media Complicit in Stonewalling about portable Atomic Weapons??
If they are not complicit – Why have none come forward?

In Part 22c of this series, I stated unequivocally “It is incomprehensible to me that no government agency or representative in the US Congress, responded when advised by this author of the serious nature of the possibility of our portable atomic demolition munitions [the SADM] falling into the hands of terrorists.”

Of all the media I provided information to regarding the SADM, only Anne Adams, producer of the Diane Rehm Show, e-mailed me, advising that their program policy included the “analysis of the news and highlights interesting authors and so forth,” advising that they “have no reporters who go out and do investigative reporting.” She suggested that I direct my comments to a news-gathering organization like NPR News, the news bureaus of one of the major TV networks, or a major newspaper or magazine that features original investigative reporting.

No other person or corporate entity within the media I have thus far contacted has come forward to obtain information, investigate or so much as advise that they were “looking into the matter.” Why is this?” I ask myself. I then provided those same media website information for the JFKResearch forum communication by Steve Gaal that detailed information about the SADM, even including a DOD Training film clip that showed the US Navy’s SEAL Team training on the airborne employment of the SADM that was similar to my experience. STILL – NO RESPONSE.

Thus far I have attempted to excite the interest of Senator Rodham-Clinton, Governor Tom Ridge, John Scanlon, Congressman Boehlert, ABC, NBC, CBS, NPR, FOX TV, NY Times, Time Magazine, The American Enterprise Magazine and the Syracuse Herald-American.
I have thus far received not so much as an acknowledgment of receipt of the information I provided.

The information I provided was sufficient, in my judgment and the judgment of two other former Green Berets familiar with the SADM device who choose to remain anonymous, to demand as a minimum a determination of my credibility as the source of such a critically important query. Once aware of the truth, wouldn’t you believe that they would take appropriate action and get back to me? Such was not the case.

I again ask the reader to go back to Part 6 (Blow the ASWAN High Dam) of this series to understand, based on my personal knowledge, why the SADM poses a real danger in the hands of terrorists. SADM was listed in the 3 Sep 74 printing of JCS Pub 1 as a “very low yield [equivalent to 10 tons TNT], man-portable, atomic demolition munition which is detonated by a timer device.” Public recognition of Special Forces operational capabilities using this portable atomic device has been offered by former Green Beret Captain Robert Buskirk, the officer involved on the ground in Laos when our forces used poison gas to dispose of American defectors.

Perhaps the most curious fact is that I have not heard from Governor Tom Ridge in response to my 28 Oct 01 and 2 Nov 01 letters regarding the Special Atomic Demolition Munition (SADM). Would you believe that, as of midnight on 7 May 2003, I have not received a reply from the Governor or his office.

Is it remotely possible that all media organizations are involved in a collaborative system of subterfuge to deny the American people the truth about the SADM? WHY? I cannot fathom why any honorable reporter would try to hide the fact that such weapons exists and that action should be take to safeguard them.

Will you take the time to write your own Senator or Congressman and one or more of the above and demand an answer? Please do what you feel to be right as an American citizen and send a copy of your e-mail, fax or letter to this website.

In the near future I hope to be interviewed, at which time I may then effectively bring forth the truth about the SADM. In the meantime, I pray instead that the proper authority
take appropriate action and, if need be, call on me to testify before a Congressional Committee on this vital matter.
